In A2Plus, it is impossible to select face once the object selected is behind the same object in order to assign constraints in an assembly.

There are several way to deal with this. The simplest is to just toggle Selection on top option by keyboard shortcut V, T. You can enable/disable this option at any time.

Regardless if this Selection on top is active or not, you can hold on Shift key to pick objects under the mouse pointer from the back instead of front. You can use mouse wheel while holding Shift+Ctrl to pick intermediate element from back to front.

Lastly, you can also use G, G shortcut to pick any intermediate shape under the current mouse pointer.
