how can I fix the error? #481
Comments
"Please note: You need input data to run REMIND. At present, there are still legal issues with sharing this data, so we can not publish them yet (but we are working on it, please bear with us). If you have access to the necessary data sources (IEA, etc.) you can generate the input data on your own, we are happy to assist you in doing so." |
Hi @kubrayavuzz , that's correct -- you need input data to run REMIND and we cannot provide them for you. We can show you how they are generated. |
Hi,
It will be really grateful if you can show me which kind of data I need and how can I generate them.
Best regards,
Kübra.

Actually my question is where should I start? Because there are too many files and the process is not explained clearly. As far as I understand, I should start with R first and move on to GAMS from there. Can you give me more details? Thank you! |
Sadly @giannou's answer was quite misleading. The first (and probably most expensive) item on the list are the 2014 version of the IEA Extended Energy Balances. Unless you can get access to that data set, you don't need to start to worry about the rest. |
Hi again, I have 2014 version of the IEA Extended Energy Balances. I am following the tutorials and in the second tutorial, when I try to run r.start file, I encountered errors which are: In the remind 2-2 file there is no necessary files, so how can I produce it? Can you help me produce file with only row and column headers without data? I just need to see how the model works. |
Hi again, my colleague Lavinia Baumstark should know if there are more proprietary data (beyond the IEA data) needed. If this is not the case, then you will need to extract the IEA Energy Balances in the appropriate format (a .CSV file I think) so that the |
