20241025 - "spotifyd: no usable credentials found, enabling discovery"

Good afternoon!

I have updated from the version before last to the current (20241025) version.
After activating the DAB+ addon, mpd did no longer work due to shared lib mismatch.
So i did a pacman -Syu followed by a reboot.
This corrected all dependencies to the right order and brought mpd back to work.
No issues so fare.

BUT
Now spotifyd is complaining about unusable credentials. Worked well before the system update.
No success with recreating the API ID & secret or setting username/password in /etc/spotifyd.conf.
I did not found a usable hint when googling.

Has anybody a good idea to fix or debug this?
I'm not sure if this a problem with version 20241025 or the system update.

Am I really the only one with this problem?
In the meantime, I have been able to reproduce this effect on two other installations - without a pacman update or DAB enablement.
Spotify is working well in the car with the built in client and my mobil phone. Doublechecked API ID and secret.
So, for my observsaion it points to 20241025.

It looks like IPv6 only network issue. Could you test this setup using another access point/network provider. Ie. mobile phone tethering?

I have not activated IPv6 in my home networks. I have two providers, one location with a fixed IPv4 address, the other with dynamic IPv6 plus DS-lite.
spotifyd worked fine in both configurations before the last update.
All RPi-s are connected via Ethernet, so tethering via mobile phone might be a bit tricky, but I will try.

I think it has nothing to do with IPv6. I had the same problem - and I found a bug at features.sh, which prevents fetching the right redirection_uri. So initial login to Spotify fails.
I've reported this bug to rern, so I think we will get an update soon.

Try to remove "^var" from grep command at line 452. "My" line looks like:
spotifyredirect=$( grep 'redirect_uri' /srv/http/assets/js/features.js | cut -d"'" -f2 )
I was able to login to Spotify correctly.

• Spotify > setting - Remove Client key
• Re-enable again

Did you do an upgrade via pacman? I've got an older kernel 6.6.45 from latest rAudio image.

Yes, as I mentioned in the first post. pacman -Syu with codebase 20241025.

I didn't read exactly enough - sorry.
In the past I had one totally broken system after pacman -Syu (many questions during the upgrade about changing some sources) - I'll never do this again without a good cause. ArchLinux seems not to be a Debian or a Linux Mint ;-)

I'd recommend you to make a backup-settings of your system and start with latest image and current update-branch + restore your settings. This is my preferred way to hold my system up-to-date.
