Computer going to sleep even though there is controller input

Hi! This is an awesome tool, great for my setup (NixOS + i3wm). Only i have noticed my laptop (Latitude 3420) going to sleep even though there is controller input. This does not happen while using keyboard or mouse, or just watching a video. This purely happens when using a controller. I have an usb Trust GXT 545 controller (my only one). I'm having this issue in multiple games and games that I've tried. Any way this could be fixed or maybe a possible patch?

I found a tool called joystickwake which might help. I'll try it tmrw.
