Your best bet in the short term would be to consult the OS32C LIDAR driver, which uses this library: https://github.com/ros-drivers/omron/blob/indigo-devel/omron_os32c_driver/src/os32c.cpp And, where relevant, the Doxygen generated documentation: http://docs.ros.org/indigo/api/odva_ethernetip/html/annotated.html |
Is there ever going to be more documentation provided on this? I know nothing about Ethernet/Ip but I am in the situation where I need to communicate to an Ethernet/IP interface in a ROS system. The doxygen and examples leave a lot to be desired and are impenetrable to anyone not already intimately familiar with Ethernet/IP. |
@mikepurvis, I also have the same concern as @pbeeson |
We are not actively using this package. It is available for educational purposes and in the hopes that it will be useful. |
Could one of the owners, @mikepurvis, put a simple tutorial or example of how to use this to interface with a EIP device? Like let's say I need to simply read a 16 bit value from a ethernet ip; how would I use this driver? |
I have the same question as @pbeeson . It will be nice for the owners to put a tutorial about how to use this. |
@pbeeson , did you solve your problem yet? I am currently in the same situation. |
chiming in, examples would be great. |

Are there any plans to update the wiki? Can you give any simple examples for using the io_scanner to read/write data?
