Monitoring CANbus Slave Device Health via Heartbeat

I am looking to report the heartbeat of a CANbus slave device to an HMI screen for network health monitoring purposes. I believe that using the slave’s heartbeat, as consumed by the master, would be helpful in achieving this.

Could you please advise on how to check the heartbeat of a slave device, or are there other recommended methods within this stack that I can utilize? Any guidance on how to implement this would be greatly appreciated.
