Describe the issue

took me 1h at 2:00 am to figure out i have to MANUALLY set stuff in the config for SSL/STARTTLS to work...

i used ssl:// or-and tls:// for both hostnames -> i wasnt able to connect to imap or smtp
please make the installer set this automaticly

to work correctly you need to add this to your config:

// IMAP authentication method (DIGEST-MD5, CRAM-MD5, LOGIN, PLAIN or null).
// Use 'IMAP' to authenticate with IMAP LOGIN command.
// By default the most secure method (from supported) will be selected.
$config['imap_auth_type'] = 'LOGIN';

// Required if you're running PHP 5.6 or later
$config['imap_conn_options'] = array (
'ssl' =>
array (
'verify_peer' => false,
'verify_peer_name' => false,
),
);

AND

// SMTP AUTH type (DIGEST-MD5, CRAM-MD5, LOGIN, PLAIN or empty to use
// best server supported one)
$config['smtp_auth_type'] = 'LOGIN';

// Required if you're running PHP 5.6 or later
$config['smtp_conn_options'] = array (
'ssl' =>
array (
'verify_peer' => false,
'verify_peer_name' => false,
),
);

There could be a checkbox to check in the Installer, but I don't think ignoring certificate validation issues is a good default.

my certs are given by lets-encrypt -> they dont have any issues
or does roundcube require: imap.YOUR-DOMAIN.TLD && smtp.YOUR-DOMAIN.TLD - as mail.YOUR-DOMAIN.TLD or YOUR-DOMAIN.TLD doesnt work...

EDIT: and no other eMail-Client (GMail-app, Thunderbird (Desktop and App), Outlook) is having issues -> and i also DONT have to choose "accept all certificates" to make it work

It's not Roundcube, it's PHP doing the cert validation.
