Meeting Agenda - 7 August 2019 #27

Update on |
keeping in mind that we're still 1.5 weeks away from the next meeting, topics of interest include:
|
A few topics I hope to discuss:
|
@ozkriff can you say a little more about what you mean by "Maintenance of http://arewegameyet.com"? What's in doubt, or needing to be discussed? |
@Lokathor "games" section is fine, but "ecosystem" and "resources" sections don't look actively maintained atm to me. Also, we may want to discuss relationships between https://rust-gamedev.github.io/ and http://arewegameyet.rs (some context: rust-gamedev/arewegameyet#110) |
@AlexEne The 8th looks like a Thursday, did you mean to post this for the 7th (Wednesday)? |
Fixed it :) |
just after our meeting this was posted: rust-lang/rfcs#2495 (comment) so it seems that there's a good chance of things moving a bit on the minimum rust version stuff. |
I left a comment in our issue, I think we should make sure all things needed by the gamedev-wg (that seem quite basic ) are correctly addressed by that rfc. This meeting's notes are:
|
@Lokathor thanks for the invitation but generally I've had the experience that the style that rust teams are run via meetings and appointments is not compatible with me. I've tried joining wgs/teams twice in the past and one big blocker was precisely that meetings problem. Furthermore, the gamedev wg is part of the rust language organisation and interacting with this wg too closely would make me more vulnerable to harassment from people who hold power in that organization. I've been victim of such harassment in the past (they banned me for 6 months) and thus now I try to route my activities out of the reach of their powers. This is merely about self-protection and reducing the harm that their harassment can cause. My interests are aligned with this WG and I'll comment in issue threads here as well as work on projects that help the gamedev ecosystem but I never intend to join the WG or something. Thanks for your understanding. |
Oh my. That's very unfortunate, but keep yourself safe. |
Opening this for the new scheduled meeting.
