Pretty sure this actually just makes the emission value some value of red. What should actually happen is the red value is used as a factor to determine how much of the base colour value (from tex 1) is used as emission.
I can't test this right now so I'm making this issue so I/others don't forget to at least look here - sorry if I'm completely wrong, but I'm... 80% sure.
