the readme says seedvault "can not be installed as a regular app." - however it lacks to define what "regular" is. Trying to find out whether this is possible on rooted devices (as rooted is not "regular") I found #9 . Over there #9 (comment) is very much on point with my issue. I have a stock ROM and I want to migrate apps and I cannot because (obviously) stock OS lacks seedvault and seedvault lacks support for backups of Ttanium Backup, Neo Backup or others. I dont want to root the destination ROM because of a) security and b) issues with OTAs.
The install_app.sh referenced by @stevesoltys about one year ago does not really help, as there does not seem to be a prebuilt apk.
So please: either provide seedvault in a root-installedable pre-built fashion or add support for Titanium or Neon Backup format or provide a converter between the backup formats. That would be absolutely awesome.
