Subsite ID stored in session (presumably) - affecting results

When I navigate to a certain subsite in the CMS and then, in the browser, run the dev/tasks/CheckExternalLinksTask task by appending it to my site url, I see only the broken external links for that subsite.
Once I navigate to the main site or another subsite within in the CMS and run the task again in the browser, I see only the respective broken external links.

While this is a regression from the 1.x to the 2.x release line, this behaviour might actually be useful to some? If we decide to classify this as a feature, I think the documentation should highlight this behaviour, however.
