Question regarding Big Sur

Hello everyone,

I'm an enthusiastic newbie, so please bear with me through my dumb questions.
First I want to congratulate on an excellent work. Thanks to your documentation I saved myself from buying a Macbook and reused an old Thinkpad.

My hardware is
Lenovo ThinkPad T460s Type 20F9.
Machine model 20F9003CUS.
Procesor is an Intel Core i7 vPro model: 6600U 2.60Ghz
UEFI BIOS Version 1.55, BIOS Date 2022-05-13
Memory: 20GB
SSD 500GB
For WiFi and Bluetooth : macOS PC WiFi Card BCM94352Z M.2 NGFF 802.11a/b/g/n/ac 2.4GHz 5GHz BT4.0

Currently running Catalina version 10.15.7 (19H1922) and EFI 0.7.1
I tried newer EFI when doing my install but it kept panicking and rebooting.

I'm considering Big Sur, but I want to be sure before I move forward.
Here are my questions:

1. Will Big Sur work on this laptop?
2. Should I upgrade the EFI? How can I make sure I don't get the panic again?
3. What is the best way to get to Big Sur?
   a. Start from scratch?
   b. Upgrade from Catalina?
4. Any special considerations I should keep in mind.
