Be restricted user
Add remote address as contact
Expect some kind of error, instead, no hints of presence subscription error you get.
Send a message
Expect error about being restricted user, instead get error about fetching OMEMO keys
Accepting that and disabling encryption to send message
Finally, long-pressing the message reveals a proper error hinting that s2s is disabled
