measure reaction force

Hi,
I am trying to create fast (interactive) medical guidewire simulations using the BeamAdapter plugin. I have tried the examples SingleBeamDeploymentCollision and 3instruments_collis which pretty much do what I want. However, I also want to monitor the forces needed during the guidewire insertion process. I wonder if this is capable in the current plugin.
(FYI, I am coming from the Abaqus world, so I am imaging this would be something similar to measuring reaction force in Abaqus)

Yes measuring forces are possible in SOFA.
