Description of Issue

I have installed OptiFine HD U J1 (1.21.1), but it just gets stuck at the Mojang loading screen. Regular 1.21.1 launches and plays perfectly fine, same with OptiFine HD U I7 (1.20.4), it's just this one version of optifine that won't work.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. install OptiFine HD U J1
  2. launch

OptiFine Version

OptiFine HD U J1

Installation Method

I download optifine, I double click the thing that appears in my downloads folder, and I click install on the window that pops up

Log Files/Crash Reports

nothing crashes, it just won't load

F3 Debug Screenshot

no debug screen, since I can't even start playing the game, not even the menu

Prior Testing

Vanilla 1.21.1 loads just fine

Do I need to have a specific forge installation? Right now I just have the one with the optifine symbol

You can use the standalone version (which is the one your using) or get Forge 52.0.16 or later, but it seems both don't work and I'm not sure what to do about this.

Where exactly do I go to download curseforge so it'll appear as an installation in the minecraft launcher?

optifine doesn't even show up when I open the mods menu in forge

Now you have to open the Optifine installer and click extract,
you will then be prompted to were you want to place the file,
you will want to place that file in the mods folder after extract.

You can open the mods folder in game.

Let me know if you get the same issue or if it works for you.

The lack of response on this post is a little worrying...

I replaced my .minecraft folder with a fresh one and STILL the same issue...

I'm probably just going to wait until they finish up their 1.21.3 version. Hopefully the new version won't have the same issue
