My name is Emile van Krieken. I am a PhD student at the VU University Amsterdam in the Knowledge Representation and Reasoning group and the Computational Intelligence group. My research is on combining knowledge representation and machine learning. I've done work on differentiable fuzzy logics, and currently on Monte Carlo gradient estimation for discrete latent variables.
I'm also very interested in Personal Knowledge Management and am excited to use Obsidian. I've been working on a plugin for Obsidian that introduces a useful new graph view by connecting linked notes to a Neo4j database.
I love working on open-source software to support a community and introduce new cool ideas to a broader audience.
