Stop for a moment. Close your eyes. What do you see? That's you doing something you love and still being able to feed your family and pay your bills.

Open your eyes. What do you see? That's me, trying to decide whether the kids eat cardboard for dinner and I spend more time on the work I love, or if I focus on paid work and build fewer cool tools for the Umbraco ecosystem.

The reality isn't so dire, nor is it absolute. My children are well fed, but I'd still like to sate my own appetite for Umbraco package development. Ironically, my day-to-day is now all Umbraco all the time, but that doesn't mean I'm spending my days on OSS stuff - quite the opposite in fact.

If NuGet numbers have taught me anything, it's that plenty of people appreciate, and are installing, the tools I'm building. What would be amazing would be a sponsorship from even a small percentage of those people - if something I've built makes your life easier or improves your Umbraco experience or makes your business operate more efficiently, it's an easy and inexpensive way to say thank you.

Unlucky for some? I'm not superstitious. I once bought a dozen bees from a beekeeper. He gave me 13, and I asked why the one extra. He said, oh, that's a free bee.

If you saw $10 blowing across the road, would you stop your car to grab it?

No? Then surely $10 a month isn't too much to ask.

Yes? You now have an extra $10, need suggestions for spending it?

This tier used to be where I complained about how difficult it was to sell software licenses as a solo developer. I can't complain anymore since I sold the entire product.

However, I have a suite of other OSS packages that need my love and attention. Love and attention are not free.

Hell, I'll even drop your name in a readme and praise you for your support.
