You are definitely one of our most awesome users ❤️ I love the idea of being part of Simple Icons, and since Material for MkDocs has become kind of a brand, I second the use cases for badges and stuff you mentioned. Personally, I lean towards variant 4, as variant 3 and 4 most closely resemble our tinted version (white side on the front facing part of the shapes), and 3 looks a little odd because of the added strokes on the edges. Could I maybe ask you to make a variant with strokes only? I'd love to see it for comparison. I'd then try and put the logo in different contexts to decide |

I'd like to add Material for MkDocs' icon to Simple Icons, which is a collection of monochromatic brand icons. Simple Icons, for example, provides the icons for shields.io badges and is also available in MkDocs for Material.
Adding Material for MkDocs' icon to Simple Icons could be useful for, e.g., advertising its use on GitHub/GitLab/... repos via a badge like
but, of course, with the right icon (I chose Read the Docs as an example).
To my knowledge, Material for MkDocs has no official monochromatic icon, so I'd like to get some feedback which monochromatic variant you like – perhaps it could be added to this Git repo as well.
These are some ideas for monochromatic icons that I've come up with:
Strokes and gaps are 0.5px thick on a 24x24px canvas. This is based on the recommendation in Simple Icons' contribution guide:
I lean towards variant 1 and 3. WDYT, @squidfunk?
