convert code to code files / store code in repo

You have some code towards your results (the classes document, e.g.), and I think I've seen more code on your various machines.

You need to commit + push the code that's not current in the repository, and have the text that is currently in the repository be converted into python -- syntactically correct, with the .py extension, etc -- like you have started with your unit tests.
