Abstract

The intricacy of why one demotes is a fascinating concept. Imagine yourself staring at emptiness, lost in your thoughts; then, suddenly, you decide to downgrade a staff member without consulting any of your fellow staff members. This issue would never happen in STEM! Our staff members show due diligence and common sense at all times. However, this server is also about detail, and specificity, per se. We want to consider all cases of staff misconduct, as you never know what can happen; maybe one day, a dysfunctional user with an essential role within the hierarchy will demote a staff member for no reason. Therefore, this issue is made to address such a case.

Thee who yearn to pose an involuntary resignation shalt be damned

Proposed restrictions:

All demotion of staff requires either a

  • Majority vote from admins
  • 1/3 vote from moderators
    or
  • Majority vote from moderators
    unless
  • The staff member in question undeniably violated Discord's TOS in such a degree that it poses a threat to server security
  • The staff member in question treats it as a resignation (must be announced in server-changes before this happens)

We won't let a tyrant's regime reign supreme
