Latex area: Pasting to the clipboard does not work correctly

Pasting from my clipboard while editing a latex area does not work properly

Steps for reproduction:

1. create a latex area: $$x$$
2. leave the latex area
3. edit the latex area and try to paste something (e.g. an x)

This expands the content of the clipboard to:
x

x

That got messed up somehow...
Step 1: create a latex area (I don't know what these are actually called):

Step 2: Leave the latex area and edit it again

Step 3: Try to paste something like an "x" in
(this only seems to happen when I paste something I copied from another latex area)

This expands the x into html code for some reason:

@somerandomusernamethatisavailable thank you for reporting this. I can reproduce this as well. The current math nodes (what you call latex area) are quite finicky to work with. I started work on a POC in #3025 that work much more reliably. I'll see if we can ship them soon.
