Stripcc npm package not working

The stripcc npm package seems to experience an error.

We have installed stripcc with npm install stripcc and it seems to install correctly. The use of stripcc is to remove control characters from temperature reads.

Please determine the source of this error.

I don't know if this is the root cause - looking at the raw output, only some of the messages had control characters. It's still worth eliminating as a potential problem source.
