I have purposefully not checked in any API keys to the repository for security purposes.
Unfortunately, that means that no one else can run the project locally unless I share the keys with them out of band, and we're careful about never checking them in.
One idea I had was to create "dev" keys that we can check in and everyone can use for development, but we'd also have a set of "production" keys that we substitute in before doing a release.
