One could change the vagrant ports in the following way:

On host	Point to
8443	HTTPS of nginx
8080	HTTP of nginx
not forwarded	HTTP of tomcat

and introduce a rewrite rule from HTTP to HTTPS (see ⁽¹⁾)

This would hide the tomcat-(host-)manager.
