whatever is published on npmjs is getting an older version despite the tag pointing to 1.5.3 (latest as of 6/28/18)

Hmm will look sounds strange.

We do have https://www.npmjs.com/package/syr zombie floating out there now though. which is 1.3.4

any chance we can take that down? seems like any npm install @syr/core | jsx is pointing to the zombie? (it's not pointing to the latest for sure)
