I had a random thought about this that I thought I'd share here.
Pallene is somehow similar to Teal. I wonder if there would be a way we could mark some files (e.g. with the extension .pln.tl) so that they can be compiled either as Lua or Pallene, depending on a compiler flag.
I haven't yet thought about all it entails, but that might be fun... :)
