There is only one thing I'm missing, which are the state short codes.

as an example for Gemany

I found a long list of country short codes and their corresponding states with subdivision types here: http://www.unece.org/cefact/codesfortrade/codes_index.html

Maybe you can add them?

Ooo! Nice find! I'm in the process of a new release on this, I see no reason why we shouldn't include this in the new API. To keep track on that, refer to #19

I'll add this info to that tracker as well.
