I think trying to clone an IC-7 isn't cost-effective when you factor time spent.
But this project is great for custom designs to each car e.g. RPM showing on a display in dash and another display showing boost on the A-Pillar rather then stuck to each other.

Lol, I'm sure it's nice to just grab some code off github rather than "factoring in time spent" ;)

Alls I'm getting at is that even a raspberry pi zero (~$15) supports HDMI displays and someone could take some serial inputs from this side and make an interactive dash that mimics an IC-7 relatively easily, all in for under a tenth of the cost.

Yeah that makes sense. A pi with Carputer or something like realdash would be quite easy to program I think
