This is a bref explanation of some of the names used throughout the documentation.

name	meaning
$NHCROOT	Root directory of NERSC-HYCOM CICE
Region directory	Directory containing model experiments for a fixed model domain
Experiment directory	Directory containing the setup for a model simulation

The following illustrates how these directories are usually organized
