Sounds like a useful addition imo. Would prob be my choice for my main system. |

A few things after thinking about this more. We're not a company and we may want to avoid the notion of "support". Making a backronym is hard and doesn't need to be defined here. That said, I think having a tag that denotes "minus-1" and that's GTS where someone is gating when that moves between 38 and 39 and is the stock/default tag for ISOs and what we recommend people go with is a great idea. I can even see this working well with nvidia as |

This might not make sense for the nvidia images since they're confusing enough as it is but ...
I want to add a
:gts
tag to my bluefin images. This is a convenience tag if you want to follow Fedora -1, that is, one release behind the current stable release. I'm also wondering if it makes sense for the main images since it would let you followlatest
for the stable release and:gts
for the older stable one that is still being supported by Fedora. And of course for people who want to stay locked into a channel they can always use:37
or whatever.GTS stands for "Grand Touring Support", a middle ground inbetween an LTS and a normal stable release. Fedora maintains the -1 version for an entire cycle after it's been finished and it hits been hitting a nice sweet spot for me, you still get a new version every 6 months, just on the tail end of that release's life cycle.
:latest
is an Audi R8,:gts
is an Audi RS6, for those of us who need a more casual grand touring experience, with four doors, some room in the trunk, that sort of thing. (But also 621 horsepower on tap!) Also it's just a fun symlink.I'd start at 38 though, 37 was a great alpha run for us so let's leave it behind and call this the start.
So it would map out like this as of today:
then when 38 comes out it looks like:
We'll only ever keep three versions of Fedora so those get pruned out nicely, latest always to the latest stable release, and gts for us dads.
