[Documentation] Some explanation how it works internally?

Would it be possible to add some simple explanation to how the code works? Does not have to go
into all details, just some starters for people who'd like to use python to write this too (I use both ruby and python despite the nick here).

Note: I don't mean to make this a LONG thing, but some documentation about the code, a few lines explained, something like a normal 1-2 page overview or so. You can not explain everything that way, but just to get a starter to people.
