Wouldn't this mapping be cached? So it would only be slow on the first launch or if there's new apps on the Explore page? I know you didn't ask, but I'm personally not a fan of the accentcolored cof logo 😅 Another idea would be to let the deb icons fade in/out to indicate that the mapping is loading 🤷♂️ blink.mp4 |

Loading up appstream service and the deb<->snap mappings takes some time at the start
Currently dennis first approach was to let the UI come up as fast as possible then letting the deb symbols appear after the appstream service is ready and after ofc the mappings are found:

This takes about 20 seconds but you can use the UI until then. However this may let mid to fast users click on the tiles and then miss their debs
Another approach would be to show the splash screen until everything is set up:
