Has anyone tested it with firmware 3.0.x?

Talking with someone on the forums, uxg-boot was broken until at least 3.0.3. 3.0.7 is now a release candidate so presumably this will ship “soon”. Has anyone tested uxg-boot on at least 3.0.7, and, is it working?

This approach won't work for the 3.x firmware. 3.x is so fundamentally different that a completely different strategy would be needed

The recent comments on unifi-utilities/unifios-utilities#523 seem to be sorta bypassing the boot script completely. That's what I am doing myself and it works well enough for my simple use case. A big difference between UnifiOS 1.X and UnifiOS 3.X is that the filesystem isn't completely read-only on 3.x. So anything you do to the filesystem will persist across reboots (which IIRC wasn't true on 1.x)

Just to chase this a bit further, are you saying https://github.com/unifi-utilities/unifios-utilities/blob/main/nspawn-container/interactive_setup.sh should work on the UXG-PRO on Firmware 3.00+?

I too am highly interested on how best to proceed now that UniFi NeXt-Gen Gateway 3.0.7 has been released officially, no longer release candidate. It may be a good idea to update README.md to state that the 3.x firmware are explicitly unsupported?

@DigiDr I can't speak specifically for that script but in general anything that works on the UDM 3.x will work on the UXG 3.x as the firmware is essentially the same.
