Profile resolver: Edge cases in mapping

Related to the profile resolver spec's, the Mapping Controls section, I'd like to know how certain edge cases work:

1. Consider multiple mappings from the same ID to different IDs (e.g., from x to y, and also from x to z). Is this situation supported? What should the profiler do?
2. Suppose the 'to' of one mapping matches the 'from' of another mapping (e.g., from x to y, and also from y to z). Is this situation supported? What should the profiler do?
