I have a fairly stable configuration which doesn't give me many headaches but sometimes the main partition runs out of space.
When it does, I delete some files and I have a script that allows me to find PIDs which are still attached to the removed files to kill them to free up the space.
My host was running since yesterday and I saw the error on disk space. As usual, I deleted a file and run the script but it didn't find any PIDs which were blocking the space from being released, and yet "df -h" said 0 free space.
Then I switched back to a MacOS desktop and back to UTM, and the screen was black. I could not see the Linux UI, just the cursor but it didn't move. This is not something that happened before.
So I tried to reset the VM but now it doesn't load and it's stuck at this screen - I tried to restart multiple times.
Edit1: I managed to boot with a iso (jammy-desktop-arm64) but that doesn't help much cause I don't know how to mount the HD or what to fix.
Edit2: I noticed the icon of an HD on the side bar and voilà, my partition is mounted
Edit3: something fishy. The file I deleted was several hundred MBs, but I got only 30 MB free. Either way, my guest now can boot, but I'm going to try to keep snooping to see if I can fix my image.
