Has this extension been made compatible with Civi 5.x? If it isn't, we have a client who is interested in this and might be able to invest some funds to make it happen.

Could we please we get an answer to @guyiac question? Is it successfully in use on a 5.x install?

@andyburnsco we've created a version that is compatible with 5.x. I'll find out it we've made it public yet.

@guyiac I would be interested in this also. we are using 5.21.3. and i use this very heavily for our volunteer groups to communicate using google groups.

Our 5.x compatible version of this extension is available at https://github.com/greenleafadvancement/org.civicrm.googlegroups. Please be aware, this only syncs from Civi to Google and is not bidirectional. We estimate 3-4 days to make it bidirectional and we are looking for people / organizations to share the cost. Please let me know if you are interested.

Hi @guyiac thanks for your work on this.

I'd be interested in helping develop bi-directional sync, and ironing out some other bugs I've noticed.

I noticed when looking at some other bugs that some of the code in this repo appears to be based on Veda's other Mailchimp sync extension (refs to Mailchimp rather the Googlegroups in some comments) ─ which has bidirectional sync. So maybe it is possible to use some of that code as a starting point?
