The hostname comes from the standard python library: I've found that sometimes it returns .local at the end, and sometimes not. It's not clear to me why, but would be grateful if someone could look into this. However, in my testing either seemed to work fine. Perhaps this is not true in all network configurations, though. Again, I'm not a networking expert so I'm not sure why that might be the case. As stated above, you can specify your own URL with the -u parameter, or have it skip hostnames altogether and use ip address with --prefer-ip |

For me, it's the only pi I have that isn't referenced as xxx.local. |

Hi all,
After installing PiKaraoke on a SD Card, all is working very well, except one little thing...
The url displayed for connecting to my raspberry is "http://raspberrypi:5555"
The barcode corresponds to this URL.
Obviously, this doesn't work, i can access the machine with http://raspberrypi.local:5555
What happened to "local"?
How can I change the Url advertised?
