Remove \section{References} for References?

PRD does not use an explicit section title for References, i.e., no \section{References} command. For the same reason, I guess, the section title appears in one of the columns but the references does not start immediately under that title which makes it look a bit assymmmetric. Would it be better to just remove the section for references?
