get a VMs hirchachy

Hello,
im new to vSphere automation and im trying to get a VMs Path.

For a VM i want to get a Path like „/<red>/<green>/<blue>1“.

The best i got so far is „/Datacenters/<red>/vm/<blue>1“ which misses the green level:

def build_vm_path(vm, path=''):
    if vm.parent:
        parent = vm.parent

        if isinstance(parent, (vim.Folder, vim.Datacenter)):
            path = parent.name + '/' + path
        elif isinstance(parent, vim.HostSystem):
            if parent.parent and isinstance(parent.parent, vim.ClusterComputeResource):
                path = parent.parent.name + '/' + path

        path = build_vm_path(parent, path)

    return path.strip('/') + '/' + vm.name if vm.name else path.strip('/')
