Reader universal links are captured by the wpios app

Steps to reproduce the behavior

Open a universal link for a post hosted on wp.com from one of the separate apps.

Actual behavior

It opens a wpios app with the following screen:

The screen that gets opened depends on the state of the progressive Jetpack migration. If there are no tabs, you'll see a popup instead.

The screen potentially helps with promoting the Reader part of the jpios app, but it can be quite frustrating because it prevents you from accessing the content.

Expected behavior

The wpios app should not capture Reader universal links anymore since it doesn't contain the Reader features.

Note: Safari has more complex rules and makes it typically much easier to opt-out of this.
