Make searches case-sensitive? #131
Comments
Hi @paynterf it is case-sensitive by default. For example, try to search for |
Danil,
Yes. I was searching/replacing A_circ (cap A with a ^ on top) and it also
found/replaced a_circ (small A with a ^ on top). In any case, there
doesn't seem to be a setting (at least not one I could find) to choose
case-sensitive or case-insensitive.
Regards,
Frank

I tried search for
I will take a look how it works in such case at code level. |
Danil,
I meant I was replacing A-circumflex (0xB6) with a space (0x20) and noticed
that it also replaced a-circumflex (0x83). In any case, as I mentioned
before, there doesn't seem to be a way to select case-sensitive vs case
insensitve behavior

Hi @paynterf |
Sorry - I'm not familiar with any databases associated with the
search/replace plugin; I was just trying to use it to clean up some garbage
characters inserted into my content as a result of a move from one host
provider to another.

Have you checked the database entry, is this item, the string in this
syntax inside the database? Maybe it is conversion issue, unicode topic?

Please try only a search via plugin. If you find entries with this syntax please use the preview to see this syntax inside a raw of a table. Maybe you can copy/paste it here to validate this part. |
I'm a new user and I can't see how to make the searches case-sensitive. Have I missed something?
