[Bug] WatchOS - This app needs to be updated by the developer to work on this version of watchOS

Description

Im trying to do some experiments with watchOS. We have an existing Xamarin that we wish to add watchOS support to.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Followed this Setup and Installation guide https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/xamarin/ios/watchos/get-started/installation?tabs=macos
2. When running the sample project and trying to open the watchOS app I get this message: "WatchApp.WatchOSApp" Needs To Be Updated - This app needs to be updated by the developers to work on this version of watchOS
3. Debugging on Apple Watch Series 7 - 45 mm watchOS 8.0 simulator
4. Visual Studio 8.10.14 (build 17) updated to latest packages as of nov. 25th.
5. XCode 13.1 (13A1030d)

Expected Behavior

That app is launched on watchOS simulator

Actual Behavior

It displays the 'This app needs to be updated by the developer to work on this version of watchOS' message when opening the app on AppleWatch Simulator

This is related with Xamairn.iOS. Could we move this to the correct repository?

Any progress on this? I have a watch app that's deployable to real hardware but will not deploy via simulator. Exactly the same symptoms as above.

Hi, Same problem here with:

VS 2019 for Mac 8.10.22 (build 11)
Xcode 13.3 (20102)
Xamarin.iOS version 15.8.0.3

Is anybody ever looking at this ?
