Problem: Opening a ZIP archive in the internal file browser suddenly crashes Kodi when libarchive 2.0.0 (spiff) is enabled. The log contains no useful information, a dump file is written.

How to reproduce: on Windows 10 Pro

  1. Uninstall existing Kodi installation
  2. Remove Kodi settings directory
  3. Install Kodi Matrix 19.0 x64
  4. Install and enable VFS-Addon Archive support 2.0.0 (spiff)
  5. Open Settings / File Manager and open a ZIP file

The x86 build shows the same behavior. I found a few silimar issues (#41, #52, #37) but no progess on them. The problem does not occur when the addon is disabled.

My guess: since no log entry is written, the problem could be a fatal error like a a division by zero as seen in xbmc #14989.
