I help package it on GURU, which is an official repository of Gentoo Linux. The package is called x11-misc/i3lock-fancy-rapid.

The steps to install it are as follows:
# install a repository management tool sudo emerge --ask --verbose app-eselect/eselect-repository # refresh the repository list sudo eselect repository list # enable guru sudo eselect repository enable guru # sync guru sudo emerge --sync guru # install betterlockscreen_rapid sudo emerge --ask --verbose x11-misc/i3lock-fancy-rapid
