I created a small holder for my GPS receiver to attach it to a lanyard. I did some experiments with Replicad and CascadeStudio. I am still very happy with CascadeStudio as it is small and fast to create simple shapes.
I noticed that there was some discussion in other threads regarding errors in the models exported from CascadeStudio. In the screenshot below I show two versions of the holder, one created with Replicad (right) and one created with CascadeStudio (left). The one created with Replicad has more rounded edges, but also has 20 errors that were corrected by PrusaSlicer. It seems that although Replicad uses a more recent version of the OpenCascade library, that is no guarantee for error free exports. I have no explanation for the difference.
