This document describes how to deploy a Skype for Business 2015 lab with less than a handful of clicks.

The deployment of the Skype for Business lab is based on the Skype for Business 2015 topology. Hence this document briefly describes the process of creating the required topology file (.tbxml). If you already have a topology file or want to use the Contoso Sample Topology, you can skip the first two steps and jump straight to 3. Starting an Automated Deployment.

  1. Install the Skype for Business 2015 management tools
  2. Create a new Skype for Business 2015 topology file

1. Install the Skype for Business 2015 management tools

The Skype for Business 2015 topology file must be created with the Topology Builder. The Topology Builder comes with the Skype for Business 2015 management tools. To install the Topology Builder on the local machine or a VM, just mount the Skype for Business 2015 ISO file and start the setup.exe (\Setup\amd64\setup.exe).
