Dynamic or Static IP address

The gpio 6i6o device will start, out-of-the-box, with a dynamic address (DHCP).

Set a static IP address

Start situation: the device has started with an address obtained from a DHCP server, and you would like to change that to a static address.

Web Landing Page

Go to the device http landing page: note the ip address in the display of the device, just under the word 'Input'. Surf to that address and you will get the following screen:

Network

Go to the tab network

Click on the use static IP address: radio button and fill out the given IP address, subnetmask, gateway and DNS.

Save

Then hit the Save button. The system indicate that the changes are accepted and that they will take effect after Reboot. Hit the Reboot button.

Reboot

After reboot, the device will be available on its new address (change the address in the browser if you would like to access it again).

Change to a Dynamic IP address (1)

When you know the static address of device.

Network

Go to the tab network

Hit the Use dynamic IP address (DHCP) button.

Save

Hit the save button

Reboot

Hit the Reboot button. You're back at DHCP.

Change to a Dynamic IP address (2)

When you do not know the static IP address.

Reset to factory settings

But a sharp pointy object gently into the little hole at the front, under the word Reset. You will feel a little click and the machine will reset to factory settings. That is: Get the IP address from the DHCP server.
