Dynamic or Static IP address
The gpio 6i6o device will start, out-of-the-box, with a dynamic address (DHCP).
Start situation: the device has started with an address obtained from a DHCP server, and you would like to change that to a static address.
Go to the device http landing page: note the ip address in the display of the device, just under the word 'Input'. Surf to that address and you will get the following screen:
Go to the tab network
Click on the use static IP address:
radio button and fill out the given IP address, subnetmask, gateway and DNS.
Then hit the Save button. The system indicate that the changes are accepted and that they will take effect after Reboot. Hit the Reboot
button.
After reboot, the device will be available on its new address (change the address in the browser if you would like to access it again).
When you know the static address of device.
Go to the device http landing page: note the ip address in the display of the device, just under the word 'Input'. Surf to that address and you will get the following screen:
Go to the tab network
Hit the Use dynamic IP address (DHCP)
button.
Hit the save button
Hit the Reboot
button. You're back at DHCP.
When you do not know the static IP address.
But a sharp pointy object gently into the little hole at the front, under the word Reset
. You will feel a little click and the machine will reset to factory settings. That is: Get the IP address from the DHCP server.
