in the data point graph 2.0 the date selection currently provides the following options

  1. Widget Configuration
  2. Widget and Widget Configuration
  3. Dashboard time range
    grafik

Option 1 & 2 are confusing and not easy to understand. Is there any other mechanism to provide more clear date selection options ?

One Possible Solution Idea :
Can we separate the aspects of date selection and the time range selector display on widget, ?

For Date Selection, Options in Dropdown:

  1. Widget Configuration, 2) Dashboard Time Range
    grafik

  2. Time range selector
Can be moved to Display options as : Time Range Selector

(If dashboard time range is selected, this remains greyed out)

Would the new default be Dashboard or widget?

Setting the dashboard time range as the new default for all widgets would be helpful.

but approach where Time range selector was a checkbox was there before... when I implemented it at first it was looking like you suggest: dropdown had two options (widget time range and dashboard time range) and Time range selector could be enabled with checkbox (only when widget time range was selected). it was UX team (@carlosceia exactly) to put it in dropdown as 3 options, so it was intended.
