🎨 TEI Customization for Encoding Sales Catalogues

This repository presents the working documents on a customization of the TEI standard for encoding (sales) catalogues with the aim of publishing them online:

• The Examples folder contains examples of catalogues encoded according to the DataCatalogue customization.
• The ODD folder contains the TEI customization in the form of an ODD (One Document Does-it-all), with both the documentation and specifications in several formats (XML, HTML, PDF, and RelaxNG schema).
• SegmOnto to TEI is a table describing the TEI equivalents to the DataCatalogue SegmOnto classes (see the Annotation Guide for further information on the classes).

📜 The DataCatalogue Project

DataCatalogue is a research and development project jointly led by the ALMAnaCH research team at Inria Paris (Institut national de recherche en informatique et en automatique), the BnF (Bibliothèque nationale de France), and the INHA (Institut national d'histoire de l'art).

We aim at creating an automated workflow for processing digitized sales catalogues from plain images to augmented online publications. We chose to encode the content of the catalogues according to the TEI P5 Guidelines as they are the international standard for encoding textual documents.
