<p>Saying all that, I feel like these levels that Harris made show an understanding of not only Doom, as I said a few sentences ago, but also shows me that if he were to carry on making maps for Doom, then what he would have made would have been a whole lot better. Of course, he'd never do that, but his influence still lives on.</p>

<p>I've been a part of the Doom community since 2016, and over those years, I have run across a number of maps that were very clearly inspired by Harris; they will have telling signs of being inspired him, especially U.A.C. <yell>Labs</yell>. It's kind of hard to fully say what makes a map clearly influenced by Harris, but it's a mix of the layout of the level itself, how it'll always be a tech-base theme, etc, plus they will always be by people whose usernames are stuff like «Vodka<yell>reb</yell>», «KillerReb» or something of that sort (if you recall, Eric Harris's online handle was <yell>Reb</yell> while Dylan Klebold's was «Vodka» [might need to use the YELL ta here]). I understand that inspiration comes in all sorts of forms, but taking notes from Eric Harris is a little... well, cringe-inducing. It shows me that you've not taken the time to play better WADs by much better people, like, Harris wasn't the only person in the 1990s who made Doom WADs... you do know that, right...?</p>

<p>I wish I felt confidence enough to show real-life examples of WADs by people that were heavily influenced by Eric Harris' work, but I don't want to callout random people online who could be witch hunted thanks to what I write, but just have faith that I am telling the truth with the inspiration and the Doom mods that I have played.</p>

</script> the gun. Let's go back a bit, so, one thing that I brought up in the past section for this review was that some people, namely David Szymanski, have called Hrot «Slav Dusk». The game certainly has been compared a bit to Dusk... and... yeah, I mean, I feel like if New Blood never published Dusk in 2018, then I have my doubts that Hrot would have been as well known as it is, even if it (from what I can understand) does have a small audience (but saying that, I feel like Hrot will be seen as a cult classic in the <span aria-hidden="true"><img src="../emoji/nature_effects/effects/sparkles.svg" title="Sparkles emoji (&#x2728;)." alt="&#x2728;" width="19" height="19"></span>future<span aria-hidden="true"><img src="../emoji/nature_effects/effects/sparkles.svg" title="Sparkles emoji (&#x2728;)." alt="&#x2728;" width="19" height="19">)</span>.</p>

<p>Of course, by making it homemade, you would think that it would be full of bugs, but surprisedly... no, the engine is very well made and I can only think of two examples of something wrong with it; first is that sometimes when you shoot an enemy that is at the bottom of a wall, they can <yell>NoClip</yell> to the top, and second is when <a href="https://antifandom.com/hrot/wiki/E3M5:_Incinerator">I was fighting a miniboss</a> and I chucked a grenade at them, making them, somehow, clip through to the room below. And that's it! That's the only two issues. I think that's really impressive, especially for a game that, as far as I can tell, was made by one person.</p>

<p>Finishing the game kind of wasn't that hard to do, only taking five hours - I don't know why it took me only that amount of time, perhaps I am secretly an amazing gamer,,, or it's due to me playing on easy. Yeah, I wrote that the demo was quite challenging on the normal skill, and <em>look</em>, you may be smirking at me writing that I played on easy, but let's just say this, <em>if I'm not meant to play on that skill, why is it in the game?</em> Also, isn't the point of games to have fun? Besides, I feel like I made the right choice, as easy was the perfect skill level for me, not too difficult and not too hard, but the game did kick my ass at times <img src="../emoji/expressions/smileys/happy_fun/wink_tongue.svg" title="Winking face with tongue emoji (&#x1F61C;)." alt="&#x1F61C;" width="19" height="19"></p>
